Hello! I’m Sherry Allen. As a former educator of 32 years, I have a deep, authentic respect for school staff and a firsthand understanding of the daily triumphs and challenges of caring for the children entrusted to us.Today, I bridge my classroom wisdom with clinical expertise as a Licensed Professional Counselor and the owner of Argyle Family Counseling. I work with individuals from age 3 to adulthood, treating a wide variety of challenges, including trauma, anxiety, depression, parenting, family relationships, school and sports performance, life transitions, and elder care.My credentials include being a Level II EMDR Trauma Therapist, a Certified EMDR Child and Adolescent Specialist, a Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Practitioner, a Clinical Anxiety Specialist for Adults, Adolescents, and Children, a Positive Discipline Parent and Classroom Educator, a Nurturing Parent Facilitator, and I am both Gottman Marriage Level II and SYMBIS PreMarital Certified.I am incredibly honored that my work has been recognized in our community. I was awarded Top 3 Denton County Child and Adolescent Therapist (2020/2026), Best of Denton County Child and Adolescent Therapist (2022/2025), and Top 3 Couples and Family Therapist (2024). Argyle Family Counseling has been recognized as one of Denton County's Best Trauma Counseling Outpatient Center, Best Children and Adolescent Therapy Practice, and Couple and Family Therapy Practice (2024/2025/2026).In addition to individual and family therapy, I offer specialized workshops for educators, students, parents, businesses, and churches. Whether I am sitting with a client or leading a presentation, my mission is to give practical, heart-centered, and evidence-based tools needed to help educators, children, and families truly thrive.
