About me
For nearly a quarter-century, my mission has been simple: empowering educators and unlocking the power of literacy. My certified journey in education actually began right here in Northwest ISD, where I spent nine incredible years (2006-2015) cutting my teeth as a certified teacher. After a brief detour serving as a literacy coach, 8th-grade teacher, Assistant Principal, and an Instructional Coach of Literacy and Innovation for Region 11, my heart pulled me back "home." I returned to NISD in 2020 as a dyslexia specialist, followed by four rewarding years as an elementary assistant principal. This year, I am absolutely thrilled to step into a new chapter as your Reading Academy Cohort Leader! I genuinely believe there is no more important job on Earth than teaching. Teachers are the front-line world-changers for our students. As a fierce advocate for powerful literacy instruction, my goal isn't just to teach children how to decode words—it’s to ignite a lifelong, unstoppable love for reading.
